McCain “Saddened” by New School

Poor, Poor Senator McCain. Seems he had his delicate feelings hurt by the meanies at the New School Graduation:

The Arizona senator said he has spoken at schools throughout the country but never before found himself in a situation in which it became difficult for him to get his message across.

“I’ve got to say that maybe the students at the New School could learn a lesson in courtesy from the students at Liberty University,” he said.

“I was saddened that these young people live in such a dull world that they don’t want to hear the views of someone who disagrees with them.”

No, Senator McCain, you are the one reacting negatively to opposing ideas. You don’t want to hear that the American people refuse to buy your lies any longer. You moderate image will continued to be assailed. If I were you, I would get used to it.

That is a positively ridiculous remark to make on this issue. The fact of the matter is, it was somewhat disrespectful to cause such an uproar. I do not question the students’ right to their beliefs in anyway, however, McCain too has a right to free speech and his own values, and he was an invited guest.

We are probably closer than you think on the political spectrum. I am a Bush-41 Republican and consequently a member of the Republicans for Kerry 2004. John McCain is not a Bushie nor will he ever be. (He has said a few things to appeal to the Right-Wing, his biggest enemy though) For this reason, I feel you are making this a far bigger deal than it should be.

I have shaken John McCain’s hand after he delivered an amazing speech in my hometown here. I promised him the Texas primary when he signed my book.

    I will honor that promise.

    Your campaign will fail.

Oh yeah, because no Democrat or “progressive” is free from blame. Get real. McCain is much better than Bush and better the Hillary Clinton. Let’s stop increasing the welfare state and giving free handouts to the poor. If they are poor, let them end it with themselves, but no, they have kids and some “bleeding heart” has to take my money and give to the looters. That will make our economy strong.

I am one to listen to everyone’s point of views. Does not mean I mean i always agree with them. I do not agree with everything McCain is for, but I would not disrespect him at all. Those students should of been more respectful. They were not asked to agree with him.

“by the meanies at the New School Graduation” - now there is an interesting phrase … thank you for providing the link to the article you are referring to. I think it is obvious by the article that the correct phrase would be “by the rudiest and most immature students at the New School Graduation”.

If those children think it is okay to dis a well respected dignitary such as John McCain (whether you like it or not, he is well respected, and has EARNED respect), I am scared of what these children will enact in the real world that they have entered into by virtue of their graduation.

I do not like John Kerry; but, I would not behave in the manner as those student if he were to get before me and speak. I would be appalled if those students were my own kids and they behaved so disrespectful.

It’s not surprising why he got that kind of response. I lived in Arizona for 6 years going to school and he still hasn’t done anything about the immigration in his own area. How can he take on bigger things if he can’t deal and make a solution to the problems he has in Arizona. It’s not surprising to me. Plus, he’s floppy to me. What he says one day will be different tomorrow. I can’t feel sure and confident that he will say something and follow throw with it.
